   I miss the sound of a 240 Diesel starting. I used to own one but upgraded to an 850 Turbo.

    Just go and buy a new gearbox. Maybe even new engine after those kilometres. I myself own Chevy Van -91 with 440 000km and I’m planning to keep the vehicle in condition till I die. And I’m not very old yet…

    Our family also has a 240, it’s an estate, and it’s still working pretty flawlessly. The only problems are the non-functioning seatbelt alarm for the passenger’s seat and some troubles when starting in cold and moist weather. Not sure if it has 1 2 litre or a 2,3 lire engine, but it has a lambda sond and a catalysator. P.S. Is it only US cars that have that alarm when igniting? Never heard that in any car I’ve been in here in Finland.

    the volvo 240 is one of the best volvos in the history, fuck the new volvos i had a 1988
    240 Grandlux/GL with a B230F 2.3 liters petrol injection engine, but sadley after much rust and 453569Km the gearbox gave up and fell out on the road
    but i had it towed to my yard and its still standing there but now i have a 1999 v70 165Hk V70+L version but i miss my old 240 GL
